Landscape architecture

LARC is a dynamic landscape design studio birthed in 2012 from the adventurous spirit of its founder, Luke. After traversing the Mexican desert, the chill of New Jersey waters, and the rugged beauty of Canada’s mountains, Luke returned to Australia with a profound appreciation for space and the need for inventive solutions. As a result, LARC takes pride in crafting unique, solution-based designs that are anything but ordinary. A collaborative process begins with a deep understanding of clients’ aspirations, creating a fusion of creativity with purpose that yields projects that resonate with verdant energy and innovation.

Luke Jones

Founder and Principal of Larc

Schooled at the Queensland University of Technology, Luke graduated in 2001 and became a Registered Landscape Architect with AILA in 2009, gaining the necessary local and international experience.

Early experience in residential garden projects in the office and on-site allowed Luke’s practical and ‘buildable’ landscape solutions to evolve. Now living amongst the rural setting of the Byron Bay Hinterland, Luke has refined the LARC solutions to suit the Australian landscape setting, whether
it be plant or material selection.

Luke’s passion for getting soil under everyone’s fingernails stems from his Mediterranean upbringing, during which he spent endless hours in the garden with his grandad. He believes in operating ethically for each site’s land and its custodians.
